Car Insurance Lincoln (Car Insurance). What to look for when buying a Cessna 182?What to look for when buying a Cessna 182? My dad and I are going down this weekend to look at a 1968 Cessna 182L. I was wondering if you guys knew what we should looking for in a pre-buy inspection. Do you know of any good websites or do you know what to look for yourself from previous buying experience? Any advice would help being that we are first time buyers. (We are going to have a mechanic look at it also later but we wanted to look at it first to make sure that it is what we want to buy.) First, join the Cessna pilots association. you can find a wealth of information on their website http://www.cessna.org/ The most important thing would be the maintenance and journey logs. These will give you an idea of the aircraft's history, such as past accidents, recurring problems or past usage (rental aircraft will be in rougher shape than a private airplane etc...) If you are a buyer get 1) an appraisal and 2) a pre-buy inspection done by professionals. There are over 250 items that can impact aircraft value, most pilots can name about 10! Beeping noise at intersection? When I am sitting in my car at this one intersection by my home, I can hear a constant beeping, every single time I am there which is usually at least twice a day. There is a four-way traffic light at this intersection. It sounds like the beeping sound is coming from that pole where you press the button to cross the street. I have never heard anything like this and I am just really curious as to why it is. In case you are wondering this is at the intersection of Plantation Dr. and N. Lincoln . How to Change a Fuel Filter in a Crown VictoriaThe fuel filter replacement process is the same for all Crown Victoria year models. The fuel filter is the most important part of the fuel cleaning process. The fuel leaves the gas tank and goes into the fuel filter. Once the fuel is in the fuel filter, the filter traps all of the sediments from the fuel. Then the fuel goes out of the other side of the fuel filter and into the engine. You can replace the fuel filter on the Crown Victoria yourself in less than an hour. Difficulty:Moderately Easy Instructions Things You'll Need Jack Jack stands Fuel line quick disconnect tool Fluid catch pan Ratchet 10mm socket Step by Step : 1 Jack the rear of the Crown Victoria up and place the jack stands under the rear axle. Make sure that the jack stands are evenly and securely under both sides of the rear axle. The let the car down on the jack stands. 2 Unscrew the gas cap from the gas tank. This will relieve the fuel pressure from the fuel filter. 3 Locate the fuel filter under the driver side of the car. The fuel filter on the Crown Victoria is located under the car on the driver side. The fuel filter is attached to the frame rail between the driver side door and the gas tank. 4 Slide the fluid catch pan under the fuel filter to catch the excess fuel from the fuel lines. There should be only a little bit of fuel trapped in the lines. 5 Slide the fuel line quick disconnect tool inside the end of the fuel line. Slide the disconnect tool in to the fuel line far enough until you feel the fuel line unlock from the fuel filter. Once you feel the fuel line unlock from the fuel filter, pull straight back on the fuel line to remove the fuel line from the fuel filter. Do the same thing to the other fuel line. Let the fuel lines hang down into the fluid catch pan. 6 Loosen the bracket that is holding the fuel filter in place. Put the 100 mm socket and ratchet onto the bolt head on the bracket and turn the bolt counterclockwise to loosen. Once the bracket is loose enough, slide the fuel filter out of the bracket. 7 Slide the new fuel filter into the bracket with the flow arrow on the fuel filter pointing towards the engine. Then tighten the clamp back down over the fuel filter with the ratchet and the 10 mm socket. 8 Slide both fuel lines over the fuel filter ports until you feel the fuel lines lock in place. Once you feel the lines lock onto the fuel filter ports, gently pull back on the fuel lines to make sure that the lines are securely attached to the fuel line ports. Then slide the fluid catch pan out from under the car. 9 Screw the gas cap back on the gas tank. Turn the ignition key on and off three different times to prime the fuel filter. Then crank the engine. Inspect the fuel filter and the fuel lines for leaks while the engine is running. Then turn the car off. Step by Step : 10 Jack the car up and remove the jack stands. Lower the car back to the ground. Tips & Warnings You can buy a fuel line quick disconnect tool for the Crown Victoria at most parts stores. Always wear safety glasses when working around fuel. Lincoln . How to Change a Fuel Filter on a 2004 SuburbanRough running Chevy Suburban engines, loss of power or poor performance may be the signal that your 2004 model might benefit from a fuel filter change. There was also a recall for that year's model that dealt with leaking aftermarket fuel filters. The connecting O-ring did not seal correctly and may cause leaking problems if the fuel filter has been changed before. Check the resource section for information that may pertain to the type of fuel filter installed on your 2004 Chevy Suburban. Difficulty:Moderate Instructions Things You'll Need Fuel line separator tool Fuel filter Step by Step : 1 Locate the fuel filter. It will be under the driver's side frame rail near the front of the vehicle. 2 Determine the sides of the filter that are the female ends. Those ends accept the male ends, which have the quick connectors attached. 3 Insert the separator tool into the female end of the fuel filter fitting. This action causes the quick connect clips to pop open and disengage from the female end, and will allow you to pull off each end of the fuel line. 4 Push the new fuel filter into place onto the fuel lines. The male quick connectors will snap into place when pushed on firmly. Tips & Warnings When putting on a new fuel filter, always follow the guide on the filter itself that shows which end attaches to the fuel tank side and which end attaches to the engine side. There may be some fuel leakage when the fuel filter is being removed. Be careful to not allow any gasoline to drip into your eyes, and wearing safety glasses or goggles when doing this task is a good precautionary idea. The separator tool and filter are available at automotive stores. *If your car has a manual transmission and the brake fluid reservoir is empty when you check it, you may have to "bleed" the brake system. See Chapter 18 for step-by-step instructions. Because brake fluid deteriorates with use, it should be replaced by a mechanic if it looks dark in color. In any case, have the fluid changed every two years. Doing so protects the hydraulic components from internal corrosion and premature brake failure. Check the Pouter-Steering Fluid To check the power-steering fluid, locate the power-steering pump in your car (see Figure 3-14). If you can't find it, your owner's manual should tell you where it is. Unscrew the cap and see whether the fluid reaches the fill mark on the dipstick (or whether it's near the top of the bottle). If the level is low, check your owner's manual or dealership to see what kind of fluid your power steering pump requires. Mark this type on your Specifications Record for future reference. Check the Wiring Feel the wires that you encounter under the hood. If they feel hard and inflex ible, if bright metal wires show through the insulation, or if the wires look corroded or very messy where they attach to various devices, they may need to be changed before they short out. Until you really get to be an expert, have a professional do the rewiring for you. 219

If your ignition wires are leaking, you'll see flash ing lights — almost like a small fireworks display within your engine compartment. Have the ignition wires replaced if you see this. Check the Windshield-Washer Fluid Under your hood is a plastic bottle or bag that connects to the washers on your windshield wipers. Is it full of liquid? If not, you can fill it with any one of a variety of windshield-washer solutions — you can even use a home window cleaner. Don't use detergent. It can leave a residue that can plug up your lines, and it isn't easy to drive with suds all over your windshield! Pay attention to the kind of washer fluid you get. Some kinds are concentrated, which means that you need to mix them with water before you add them. If you live in an area that gets cold in the winter, you can buy a premixed washer solution that contains antifreeze. This solution comes in quart and gallon sizes and keeps your windshield clean while preventing the liquid from freezing up in cold weather. Lincoln . Part I: Getting Started Check and replace windshield Wipers If your wipers have been making a mess of your windshield, buy new blades or new inserts for them. The rubber wiper inserts are inexpensive and usu ally just slide into place. The metal blades into which the inserts fit are a little more expensive, but if your old ones look corroded or generally aren't in good shape, you should replace them as well. The metal blades frequently come in packages with conversion parts for different cars. Consult your auto Lincoln .
